The Captain Cook Hrithik Roshan Special Edition gets a monobloc case in matte plasma high-tech ceramic
Swiss watchmaker Rado has launched the new Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Hrithik Roshan Special Edition at two key boutique locations in Dubai. The Bollywood superstar under whose name the special edition has been issued flew down to Dubai, especially for the launch. Hrithik Roshan, one of the most popular lead actors in the Indian movie industry, has been associated with Rado for more than a decade as its brand ambassador.
After launching the new timepiece at Rivoli Group’s R Lounge in Dubai’s H Hotel, the movie star also released the watch at the Rado boutiques in Dubai Mall and Al Fahidi Street. He was accompanied by Rado CEO Adrian Bosshard. “It is an honour to bring our brand ambassador and friend Hrithik Roshan to Dubai to celebrate the launch of this exclusive time piece in Rivoli’s flagship stores. I am convinced that watch lovers and Rivoli customers will appreciate the watch and Hrithik’s presence as much as we do,” said Bosshard.
“Rado has become an inseparable part of my personal style and it gives me a great sense of pride to launch a timepiece with the brand that holds a special place in my heart,” said Hrithik Roshan after launching the Captain Cook High Tech Ceramic Special Edition. Rado also launched a video campaign to promote the new watch that shows the actor as a daring adventurer taking on harsh terrain scarred by molten lava from an active volcano.
The positioning of the new watch as an adventurer’s choice is in line with the ethos of the model that is named after the legendary 18th-century explorer Captain James Cook. A modern interpretation of the Rado Captain Cook from the 1960s, this special edition is powered by Rado’s calibre 734 automatic movement with an 80-hour power reserve, and features an antimagnetic Nivachron hairspring. It is also tested for accuracy in 5 different positions.
The 43mm case gets a monobloc construction in matt plasma high-tech ceramic, while a rose gold-coloured stainless-steel bezel with plasma high-tech ceramic inlay frames the dial. The translucent dial features rose gold-coloured hands and applied indices. The brushed titanium case back has a tinted black sapphire crystal in the centre with ‘Hrithik Roshan Special Edition’ written in the metallised rose gold coloured script. The watch comes paired with a high-tech ceramic 3-row bracelet with matte plasma outer links and polished plasma high-tech ceramic middle links. The watch is offered for sale in the UAE for a price of Dh15,600 and comes in special packaging, accompanied by a Special Edition certificate.
