The new model draws inspiration from Tudor divers’ watches worn by US Navy personnel from the late ‘60s to the early ‘80s

The new Tudor Pelagos FXD watch is a special nod to Tudor’s long history with the United States Navy. This watch takes a classic design and makes it work well for today’s needs.
Back in the 1950s, the US Navy tested Tudor dive watches. By 1958, they officially approved these watches and started giving them to Navy divers. The Pelagos FXD is like a spiritual successor to those watches, built tough and high-performing, just like the “Milsub” watches of the past. It’s even named “FXD” after the strong fixed strap bars on its case.

Tudor’s partnership with the US Navy began in the 1950s and continued into the 1980s. These watches were used by Navy SEALs, underwater demolition teams, Seabees, and Navy dive school instructors. They played important roles in training divers and maintaining submarines around the world. You can find records of Tudor watches being officially approved by the Navy.
The Pelagos FXD follows very specific rules, making it unique. It has fixed strap bars, part of the case, making it sturdier. The bezel on the watch turns in one direction and glows in the dark, meeting the rules for diving watches.

The design of the watch is inspired by Tudor dive watches worn by US Navy divers from the late ‘60s to the early ‘80s. It’s black with square hour markers and special “Snowflake” hands that were famous back then. The 42mm titanium case doesn’t reflect light and can go underwater up to 200 meters.
The Pelagos FXD also keeps an old Navy tradition alive with a green fabric strap that has a red thread and a clever fastening system. You can switch to a rubber strap with a cool fabric pattern if you want. Tudor’s fabric straps are known for being comfortable and strong.

The Tudor Pelagos FXD is a modern version of the Navy dive watches from the past. It’s practical, respects history, and works well for today. If you want to see it in person, you can check it out at the Tudor store in Dubai Mall or Mall of The Emirates.
