Watches and Wonders Shanghai 2023 proves a hit among watch enthusiasts

The event attracts 12,000 unique visitors over five days with nearly 5,000 of these being end clients and members of the public

The global watch community recently gathered for the 2023 edition of Watches and Wonders Shanghai. This year, in a notable departure from tradition much like the one earlier in Geneva, the event welcomed not only leading retailers, journalists, and clients but also the general public. Together, they explored the latest offerings from 14 prestigious watch brands, marking a successful milestone in the event’s evolution.

The third edition of the event in Shanghai concluded on a high note, attracting an impressive 12,000 unique visitors over five days. Notably, nearly 5,000 of these were end clients and members of the public who flocked to the event during the weekend. The influence of social media played a pivotal role in expanding the event’s reach, garnering attention from a staggering 75 million people.

The atmosphere at the event was exciting, with international product launches and the presence of notable Chinese celebrities such as actors Dilraba Dilmurat and Zhang Ruoyun, as well as former star swimmer Ning Zetao.

Attendees had the opportunity to participate in introductory workshops, explore special exhibitions, and attend presentations covering various facets of the watchmaking industry. These immersive experiences kindled a heightened interest in the art of watchmaking.

The weekend program featured a series of successful conferences held in the Auditorium. Topics included discussions on iconic watches and an insightful exploration of trends and novelties for 2023. Professionals and the general public alike could also stay engaged with the event in real time through the Watches and Wonders Shanghai WeChat platform.
